The Green Technology Alliance (GTA) and Microsoft have partnered together to demonstrate value in sustainable technologies and business practices for all size organizations. Microsoft’s new BizSpark program is another way for the GTA to support startups that are interested in developing a sustainable organization. Startups are the lifeblood of innovation and economic development, the GTA provides the unique resources startups require to adopt the most efficient business practices and help accelerate the development of new technologies by identifying market opportunities and channels. Microsoft’s partner programs are an important tool in the GTA’s commercialization programs.

BizSpark is a uniquely designed Microsoft partner program focused on accelerating a start-ups success by providing fast, affordable access to current, full-featured Microsoft tools and technologies, plus production licensing for hosted solutions. For support, BizSpark unites a global community of technology and entrepreneurial experts who can guide startups through the hurdles of growing a new business. This unique community offers opportunity for both start-ups and business partners to help support the accelerated success of new technologies.

The GTA is proud to be selected as a network partner for Microsoft’s new and innovative BizSpark program. said Heath Naquin, Green Technology Alliance, Chief Operating Officer. The GTA is focused on supporting all ventures desiring to gain exposure for their emerging green, clean and sustainable technologies as well as those that wish to operate more efficiently. As always our goal is to ensure their success. The benefit of the BizSpark approach is now startups have Microsoft resources to obtain the skills, resources and knowledge to be successful in their commercialization efforts.

To be eligible for the Microsoft BizSpark Program, startups must be actively engaged in development of a software-based product or service with additional benefits for companies developing hosted Software As A Service (SAAS) products, startups must also have been in business less than three years, and have less than USD$1M in revenue. Startups may enroll for the program by obtaining sponsorship from a designated BizSpark Network partner.
