Going Green
The need to conserve resources and operate more efficiently is known... what is missing is HOW to do it. Individuals and organizations need to conserve resources while improving their bottom line. The GTA works to help organizations learn better ways to do business and discover what technologies can help them improve their bottom line while conserving resources and costs.
Example Green Projects
- Green Infrastructure Management
- Sustainable Operations
- Green Facilities Management
- Organizational Environmental Impact
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives
- Power and Energy Conservation
- Green IT Implementation
For any green effort to be effective, including the above example projects, regardless of focus there are three distinct and yet interrelated impact zones that must be addressed in order to effectively green our organization.
Every green initiative will need to address some basic questions across the impact zones including:
Green Organization
- What does Green mean for our organization?
- Where are we at now?
- What impact are our operations truly having on the environment?
- What can we do today to become Greener?
- What projects will offer the greatest organizational ROI?
Green Infrastructure
- Who are the stakeholders in the organization (internal & external) that will be impacted by changes in our infrastructure?
- What processes will be impacted by our green initiative?
- Will training and education be required (again internal and external)?
Green Technologies
- What are the challenges to evaluating Green Technologies?
- What are the financial incentives for going Green (rebates, tax credits, etc.) and how do I access them?
- How do I assess, evaluate and implement the Green Technologies my organization needs?
